Next weekend, I’ll do some more hill repeats during the Chouffe Classic.
That course is definitely tougher than the Hel van Klimmen I cycled two weeks ago.
With 168 kms and close to 3,000 altimeters, it gets a 93/100 difficulty rating…
As we have booked an apartment from Thursday to Saturday, I’ll have three days to cycle in the Ardennes.
However, I will again not be able to ride on my Émonda.
While the front derailleur will be replaced under warranty, it will not arrive in time at the LBS to have my bike ready by Thursday ☹️
Not to worry though, as I have a Giant Revolt that should be more than good enough, right?
Well yes, but when I wanted to take it out for a spin to accompany Paula during her first ride on the shiny new Domane, the front disc brake wasn’t working…
I’ll drop it off at the LBS too, but I expect that this problem can be solved before we leave.
If that doesn’t work, I’ll need to take out the MTB – who says you only need one or two bikes?
Anyway, provided that the Revolt or this last resort is actually functioning, Thursday’s ride will be from somewhere south of Liège to our apartment in La Roche-en-Ardenne.
Depending on how that goes, I’ll ride one of several alternatives I have for Friday.
I might settle for a shorter route than the longest I plotted in order to preserve some energy for Saturday.
Besides, as is the case for Thursday’s ride, there might be a few obstacles in the course that will need navigating around and as I don’t know the area very well, this may be time-consuming…
