Just a short post to tell you (who cares?) that my Trek Speed Concept SLR 9 has arrived!

I accidentally saw they were working on it last week, when I visited my LBS.

As Paula was at the hospital to visit a friend, I wanted to kill the time and entered the store.

(I didn’t really need anything, but I “scored” a fitting jersey nonetheless 😂)

The bike was 90% ready, so I’ve been waiting for a phone call all of last week.

They called me several times, but that was to discuss options for (tubeless) tires and stuff like that.

Trek Speed Concept SLR 9 AXS

Update Jan. 9

Trek dropped the price of the SLR 9 AXS.

That bike has Sram RED instead of Sram Force.

The LBS can offer me an additional discount, meaning I’m “only” paying ~750 more.

Which is more than the total for my Sonora 🤪

Paula also sanctioned this additional increase, so I informed them that it was okay.

Canyon SpeedMax CF8 SE

My Canyon SpeedMax was in for a parts swap and I decided to “slightly” adjust it into a “Second – and Limited – Edition”.

I needed to replace the worn out chain, cassette and (big) chain ring.

This what you get when you ride 15+ K (9.2+ K for John) on your bike all year round, I guess…

(I ride a lot more, but the other – gravel/MTB/dedicated Tacx/spinning – bikes do not wear out my Canyon.)

As I hardly ever – as in next to never – use my small chainring, and only about 5 of the 12 cogs on the cassette, I made a change to the gearing.
