Cyclopaat, an alter ego with a twist
As announced in my previous post, we spent a week in Hochsauerlandkreis from June 28th to July 5th.
Although I cycled every day – duh – the weather was not what I hoped for.
Friday and Saturday it was scorching hot, after which the temperature dropped over 15 degrees and we had rain every day.
On the bright side, I collected a lot of new kilometers but that will now be a lot harder when I cycle the area again…
This Friday we will once again depart for a week in Hochsauerlandkreis.
The area is one of Germany’s cycling mecca’s of “mid-range hills”.
The Hochsauerland hills will bring you up to just over 800 meters which is slightly higher than the Eifel, but over 600 meters short of the Feldberg in the Black Forest.
However, the Black Forrest is a lot further away…
With the upcoming “Hel van Klimmen” this weekend, the preparation for my Tour de France will start.
It will be my third participation in this “Granfondo” and I like it because it’s limited to 250 participants.
The Hel includes fairly unknown climbs in its course, or another end of the more popular ones.
As preparation for my Tour de France 2024 I have a few activities planned.
But first, on March 30th, I’m going to show of my Trek Speed Concept SLR 9 during the Tijdrit Almere.
I do not expect I will be any faster on it, though.
But it’s probably an affront to some that an old man should ride such a TT bike 😂
The powerhouses will pass me left and right, even on My Little Pony bikes…
