Spring is in the air

Happy lambAlthough I’m not yet convinced spring is really in the air, we have enjoyed some better days recently.

After months of mostly dull, gray and rainy days – without any real frost – the sun is finally showing itself.

Windy AF will not spoil the pleasure of getting out on the bike, although I’ve been slowly fading out on the way back home, facing a head wind…

My first long ride on the Speed Concept was the February Gran Fondo, after which the temperatures dropped a bit again, but not enough to keep me indoors entirely.

The Gran Fondo March was in the hilly part of my country ” down south”, which I also completed on the Speed Concept.

After all, as it is a triathlon bike, I figured I should be able to ride them hills, although I wasn’t totally convinced I could, so I took the Émonda as a backup.

I didn’t need it, though. A more famous segment like the Keutenberg could not be cycled due to road works, but I successfully tackled a few equally steep alternatives.

Four pretty intense days in a row, with the Friday also “down south” and Sunday / Monday in my backyard, after which we were back to below comfortable temps again.

I mean, I can dress for anything down to -10 Celsius, but the wind chill was so annoying that I didn’t even try…

This week brought us steadily increasing temps again, so I’m enjoying them to the max 😎

And I’ve added most of these rides to my Kinomap feed, creating Limburg as a new playlist.
