I have cycled all passes on my “100 Greatest” list for this Giro and I had another day left before heading home again.
Considering tomorrow would be another tough day, if I cycle the Kaunertaler Gletscherstrasse, I should’ve taken the day off.
But that seemed like a waste, so I cycled up to Torri di Fraele again.
As that didn’t go very well, I called it a day back down in Bormio.
And while writing my reports on yesterday’s ride and today’s, I’m actually thinking about scrapping my Epilogue.
I’ve strained myself much more than I anticipated, even in a scenario based on experience rather than the fantasy tour I make up in the months before the start of any Grand Tour.
Yes, I can use the after-effects of my crash in the Hochsauerland as an excuse.
And I developed a cold, probably during the Mapei Day and aggrevated during the ice cold Stelvio descend of the Türkiye – Hollanda match.
Lastly, I turned 65 last Thursday – maybe the biggest excuse of all 😂
I should probably leave the epic shit to the Volkan’s of this world.
I’ll think about riding an Epilogue or not while I watch the Tour’s Queen stage…
