Report: Tijdrit Almere 2024

Not much of a report to write, as my ‘race’ was over after one round…

Drizzle and light rain early in the morning, but temperatures rising to around 10 degrees Celsius before I started.

The rain had stopped by then, but the course was obviously still wet.

The start / finish was slightly altered compared to the last years, as was the course itself.

Up Next: Tijdrit Almere

Next Saturday, March 30, I will participate in the Individual Time Trial ‘Tijdrit Almere’.

A very well organized event in my backyard, in which I participated several times.

It’s a big event too: there are nearly 600 participants, including the ones riding a 4-person Team Time Trial.

I will ride the long distance: 42 kilometers, 3 rounds of 14 kms each.

As preparation for my Tour de France 2024 I have a few activities planned.

It was cancelled in 2020 and the “Tijdrit Almere 2021” was in October, last year’s “Tijdrit Almere 2022” was a week later than this year.

The course is following the dyke along the “Gooimeer” lake and open fields on the other side, so there’s no hiding from the wind…
