The Tour de France 2025 will be, like mine always are, entirely on French soil.
No Grand Depart in Buenos Aires or Beijing, but in Lille.
3,320 kilometers divided over 21 stages: 7 flat, 6 hilly and 6 mountain stages, five of those with mountain finishes.
These will be at Hautacam, Luchon-Superbagnères, Mont Ventoux, Col de la Loze and La Plagne.
There are also 2 individual time trials scheduled for the Tour de France 2025, one uphill to Peyragudes.
And, unlike me, the pros do need a rest day and they’ll even get two…
The finish on Col de la Loze (2,304m) is were the Souvenir Henri Desgrange1 will be awarded.
That col will be tackled from Courchevel, the easier end…
1 Whenever the Galibier is not included, the award goes to the rider passing the highest col in that year’s Tour. De Souvenir Jacques Goddet is (only) awarded if the Tourmalet is included – as it is next year – to the rider that first crosses that summit.
Here’s the official video – more videos here and you can read more on the Tour de France pages.
