It’s that time of year again, time to make new year’s resolutions.
Of course, in doing so you’re basically admitting you’ve been doing it wrong so far.
But, “it’s never too late to make a change”, right? Right?!
Right…
If you feel that you need to make a change, by all means, do.
After all, “better late than never” counts too 😂
I’ve never been much of a resolutions man – I try to make the best of it as I go.
It’s a work in progress and I’m faltering – even miserably failing – at times.
Sometimes I have a goal, or a target, but – like with many of those resolutions – it doesn’t always “work out as planned”.
Another great euphemism.
As to the current state of affairs in the world: I can’t even.
I remember that I was reviewing 2020, stating that 2021 was going to be better, since the bar was rather low.
Well, guess what…
Nevertheless, while I do what I can, I also continue to pretend that my cycling hobby – more like a meth addiction, really – is worth something too.
So, I trade in and buy more bikes, get more gadgets – a CORE body temperature sensor? Really? – and plan yet another idiotic cycling adventure in the French Alps.
But more importantly: Paula and I are really looking forward to becoming grandparents this year.
My son finally figured out what needs to be done to become a dad, although now my daughter in law is doing all the hard work ❤️
The kid will have no less than six grandparents: four blood relatives and two “bonus” grandparents…
While the future for newborns and today’s (teenage) kids is uncertain at best, not creating new life isn’t helping either.
Let’s hope we can turn the tide and manage to not crash and burn the planet 😒
For now, I wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy 2024 – make the best of it, resolutions or not!
