TDF 2021 – Stage 4

I only did the Croix de Fer from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne once and I had no good, let alone fond memories of it.
Cyclopaat, an alter ego with a twist
Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne is one of the best locations for a base camp if you want to cycle in the Savoie, specifically in the vast Maurienne Valley.

I only did the Croix de Fer from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne once and I had no good, let alone fond memories of it.

I spent some time on making up my mind for today's ride and decided to go for the two climbs near Modane: L'Orgère and Valfréjus.

I decided to get to Saint-Marie-de-Cuines for the Glandon, where I encountered descending cyclists, participants in the Cyclosportive de la Madeleine.

From our apartment, I cycled the Lacets du Montvernier, followed by the Col du Chaussy and the Madeleine.

The Prologue started in Allemond with the Croix de Fer, followed by the Col du Mollard and a descnt to our apartment in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.

I will be posting some info on climbs in the (wider) area of our Tour de France 2021 base camp - today those in the Isère.
