TDF 2021 – Stage 10

Col de la Madeleine in full today, as they have such good wafles at the summit restaurant.
Cyclopaat, an alter ego with a twist
Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne is one of the best locations for a base camp if you want to cycle in the Savoie, specifically in the vast Maurienne Valley.

Col de la Madeleine in full today, as they have such good wafles at the summit restaurant.

After a car transfer to Beaufort, I cycled the Col du Pré which was scheduled in 2014 but skipped, and finished off the day with Les Arcs.

Starting at my doorstep I cycled to Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne for the climb up to Valmeinier.

Stage 7 brought me the formidable Iseran from Val Cenis and a disappointing Tignes as desert.

I cycled the Col du Mollard from Villargondran - 40 hairpins! - and then Le Chalmieu.

A rather short stage today, mainly due to the miserable weather, but Plan du Lac was a brutal climb and I called it a day at its summit.
