Towards the end of 2024, the Secretary of the Treasure sanctioned the organization of a Giro d’Italia 2025.
HELL YEAH!!!
However, as the costs for an apartment in the Dolomites was still way over our budget, we settled for one in the Ortler Alps.
After two forced changes in reservation, our base camp was smack in the middle of Bormio at the foot of the Stelvio, the Gavia and the Foscagno.
The Giro d’Italia 2025 was two weeks long, or 15 stages: a Prelude (in Switzerland), a Prologue and 13 Stages.
I forfeited the Epilogue as I was too tired – in the end, it also rained that day…
We were joined by grasshopper Volkan for a Türkiye 🤝 Holanda, a 3-day cycle-along.
That was after a short side-trip to the Dolomites, like we did in 2020, where I tackled a few new cols.
