For pure scale, raw alpine power, and cycling history, the Ortler Alps are unmatched anywhere in the Italian Alps.

Final post on my Giro d’Italia 2025, with the stats and a reflection on how these "grand tours" seem to be less and less within my capabilities.

I reflect on my final Giro d'Italia days, not wanting to waste one, but increasingly battling fatigue and age.

Running on fumes, I climbed Passo del Vivione, the last on my “100 Greatest” and like most others, not easy.

On the other end of the Valtellina Valley, Passo San Marco from Morbegno was another tough climb on the list.
