As Grasshopper Volkan would be arriving today and Türkiye 🤝 Hollanda starts tomorrow, I didn’t want to wear myself out.
Again…
Half a rest day then, with the Foscagno and a “bonus” ride up to a fort.
I didn’t have a lot of confidence in my successfully riding up the Foscagno.
However, it went better than I feared and although I got nowhere near my 2011 PR, I was actually faster than in 2015.
The ride was interrupted no less than three times due to road construction, or actually two of them were “gallery” constructions.
There are three longer galleries towards the summit and two of them were under construction.
These also slowed my descent back to Valdidentro, but once down there, I decided to take a detour.
That involved Le Motte and Forte di Ogra, the latter being quite steep.
And with bad tarmac the last 1.5 kilometers or so, which was more of a menace on the way down.
The ice cream at the summit was delicious, though…
While descending back to Bormio, I ended up in the tunnel, which is forbidden for cyclists, but as Paula was right behind me, I didn’t run into a problem 😎
