Having just returned from another Tour de France, I am allowed to pencil in a possible Giro d’Italia for next year.
Every time when I planned a Tour (4 in a row) I was secretly looking at affordable options in Italy as well.
I’d really like to get at least one more Giro d’Italia in before I’m too old, and my heart will always belong to the Dolomites in particular.
But the costs of a trip to God’s own backyard have become increasingly high.
And 💞 Amore Infinito might be priceless, but our financial resources put a cap on it anyway…
Except that my other Amore Infinito, Paula 💞, once again shows she’s willing to go to great lengths to help fulfil my cycling wishes.
And “before I’m too old” is actually more of an argument to get there sooner rather than later, is one I reluctantly have to agree with.
The idea to give another Giro d’Italia a shot was born when Grasshopper mentioned he would very much like to – one day – cycle the Sella Ronda.
In itself that is not a very big challenge, but as he lacks a Paula to accompany him in the team car, it’s easy for me to say that.
(And it’s really not that easy a tour for me either 😎)
When he mentioned it, I told him I would come – and bring Paula – to Italy too, to cycle along.
Probably genuinely surprised that I wasn’t kidding, he told me we should work out a cunning plan to make this happen.
As Paula doesn’t know her vacation schedule for next year before the end of next month, I will get back to him – and you – in due time.
Stay tuned!
will stay tuned 🙂
