Cyclopaat, an alter ego with a twist
As announced in my previous post, we will travel to Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne again this year, for my short Tour de France 2022 a.k.a. Critérium du Dauphiné.
One stage that is going to be on the menu, is a rematch of the disastrous cluster fuck that was stage 12 of last year’s Tour.
As I now know there’s a col to be had, Col de la Loze, which was the “surprise” that eventually floored me last year, I will ride it this year…
So, yesterday when I got home, Paula handed me an envelope.
While I thought for a moment she was handing me the divorce papers, it actually contained my birthday present 🤣
It was a printout of a reservation she had made on Booking.com and while she knows that my hearth lies in the Dolomites, that was just (way) too expensive.
But because we both have fond memories of last year’s stay in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, she figured this would be more than a consolation.
Well, HELL YEAH!!!
Hoping for the best with regards to the pandemic and – perhaps even scarier – provided that the mad dog in the Kremlin doesn’t destroy the planet, we have booked two holidays for this year.
One will be a week in Hochsauerland (Germany) where we have rented an apartment as the base camp for another cycling week.
But the other one is two weeks of sun fun.
