Tour de France 2022 – Best Of Gallery

As it did last year, it took me a while, but I once again found the time to stitch together a gallery with the highlights of our Tour de France 2022.

They are displayed randomly (fun game: guess the stage!) and if you want any of the larger original(s), drop me a line.

Next gallery: Tenerife (did I make one for our Hochsauerland trip already? If not, that’s coming up too 😎)

TDF 2022 – Report

Tour de France LogoUnlike during last year’s Tour de France, I’ve not written any post-stage reports this year.

This is partly due to the poor internet connection we had and I needed my phone’s hotspot internet to stream Netflix.

But it’s also because I was just out of energy after each stage because of the murderous heat, not only while cycling but also in the apartment.

Plus, I have not received any requests to “pretty please” write any post on this year’s Tour de France.

As usual, I’ll give you a recap anyway…

TDF 2022 – Countdown

Tour de France LogoThose of you following me on Strava may already have seen that I’m “tapering” this week.

I actually have no idea how to do that properly, but as it’s hot and the outlook is the same for next week in France, I’m also getting adapted to the heat.

Both these days are going to be tough, like most of the stages I’ve planned for myself.

Although most of them are quite short, the altimeter gain in each is scary 😎

TDF 2022 – Maurienne Valley Part 4

Tour de France LogoIf you’ve read my previous posts and (thus) know I have a limited number of days available to cycle, I have concluded that I do not have enough of them to cramp everything I want to climb into those.

I also do not want to waste a lot of time on car transfers, so I’m prioritizing the Maurienne valley climbs.

This is the fourth post on those but I may rethink / redesign my stages when we are in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne…

At any rate, this post is about two climbs out of Saint-Étienne-de-Cuines / La Chambre, but I will probably start at our doorstep.

TDF 2022 – Maurienne Valley Part 3

Tour de France LogoAs predicted in my first post about “Maurienne Valley Leftovers”, I have enough of those to keep me busy for a few stages.

This third post is again about the northern end out of the valley, as before close to / starting from our apartment in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.

During my previous Tour de France, I cycled Lacets de Montvernier and Col du Chaussy, but there are two more to be had.

These are Col de Sapey (from two different starting points) and Montdenis
