This year’s official Tour de Suisse, will take place from June 15th to June 23rd. While this is an event I like to follow – and watch, if it is at all possible to find a feed – this post is to inform you that I will construct a ‘Tour de Suisse 2019’ of my own 🙂
I already have my own Giro and Tour, and at the end of my last Giro d’Italia in 2015, I rode a final stage in Switzerland.
This stage made such an impression, that I promised myself to get back there one day, so as usal, I have no problem dubbing that Tour de Suisse.
In fact, that Giro in 2015 was constructed after I seriously considered to go to Switzerland, but decided not to because of the high costs.
For this year, I had a look at both France and Italy. Especially in France, there’s plenty more to cycle, either in areas I’ve already been to, or in new ones, like the Pyrenees.
And while I will never ever get tired of the Dolomites or the Ortler Alps, and while Italy has other areas I’d love to go to one day too, I opted for Switzerland this year.
I have already done some research back in 2015 and I will use that to further develop my plans for the Tour de Suisse 2019, which will take place in the first half of August.
For starters, we have already booked an apartment in Silvaplana, at the base of the Julierpass.
We will stay a week there, after which we will move to an apartment near Andermatt, for some more stages.
Stay tuned for more info on my Tour de Suisse 2019!
