I guess the climbs in my ‘Been there, done that‘ list, are enough to fill anyone’s bucket list.
However, there are so many more I would like to get on the list.
Heck, I suppose there are more on the ‘Not been there, love to do that’ list 😂
Some of those I could cover if I’d just plan that trip to the Pyrenees.
Like the Tourmalet, Aubisque, Hautacam, Peyresourde and Superbagnères, to name a few.
We almost did go to the French – Spanish border back in 2015, but eventually went to Italy instead.
Because that is where my heart is, in the Dolomites, God’s own backyard.
But even after two trips there, I have not ‘conquered’ all of them.
Which, by the way, is also true for the Alps in (South-East) France, where we’ve been twice too.
Apart from the Pyrenees, I have a few climbs on my list, some of which I may never actually get to do:
Trollstigen (NOR), Transfăgărășan (ROE), Bealach na Ba (SCO), Colle del Nivolet (ITA), Grosse Scheidegg (AUS), Timmelsjoch (AUS/ITA), Rettenbachgletscher (AUS), Nufenen (SUI)…
Just a few and so many, many more 🤪
And that’s only in Europe.
Even less likely to ever make it to my list of completed climbs, are those on other continents.
Like in the US: Dante’s View, Mount Palomar, Mount Lemmon, Pikes Peak…
Life’s too short.
What’s on your bucket list, either as ‘done’ or ‘to do’? Let me know in the comments.
I am going to the Vosges this year going for the Grand Balllon 🚴♂️👊, another must do climb for the list 🙂
Maybe, but I didn’t like the Vosges very much. However, it’s obviously an event that attracts many 🙂 Have fun doing that and be safe!
Hi Robert,
My list of climbs is empty. I haven’t yet cycled any climbs in Europe. ‘Not yet been there’! However, I intend make a trip to Europe this year or next year to climb some mythic climbs.
Best regards,
Redmike
Make a bucket list – there’s enough inspiration around here 🙂 – and let me know when you intend to come over.
